Hailing from southern New England, Matt's fascination with the region's distinct weather patterns inspired him to transform his passion into a lifelong career. Pursuing this calling, he pursued advanced education at Mississippi State University, earning a Masters of Science in Meteorology. This academic journey instilled in him a profound understanding of how to tailor operational forecasts effectively to the private and municipal sector's unique needs.
Before establishing his own private weather consulting firm, New England Weather Consulting LLC, Matt honed his expertise through roles at respected organizations, including the American Meteorological Society (AMS), the nation's leading institution dedicated to advancing and disseminating knowledge in atmospheric, oceanic, and hydrologic sciences.
Moreover, Matt's impressive skill set extends to effective communication, shaped during his long tenure in the educational sector, where has taught science at both middle and high school levels.
Additionally, he holds the distinction of being both an FAA Certificated Flight Instructor and FAA Part 121 Aircraft Dispatcher, boasting extensive knowledge in aviation meteorology. This multifaceted background equips Matt to provide accurate, easy to understand and timely weather information tailored to the needs of both private enterprises and municipal clients.
Matt is a respected member of the meteorological field, and maintains his longstanding memberships with the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society.
